    Advanced usage for Packages:

    • How to download and install ALL Stux 0.8 Packages manually.

      1. Download archive stux-apps-0.8-pack-X.Y.tgz from http://gpstudio.com/stux/download.html.
      2. Uncompress stux-apps-0.8-pack-X.Y.tgz IN THE ROOT FOLDER of an existing linux partition. Example that uses /dev/hda1, mounted on /mnt/hda1, as target partition:
        $ cd /mnt/hda1
        $ tar -xvzf /location/of/download/directory/stux-apps-0.8-pack-X.Y.tgz
      3. Execute, invoking with full absolute path,
        /mnt/hda1/stux-apps/[application name]/stux/setup-stux.sh
        that will create desktop items and command
        /mnt/hda1/stux-apps/[application name]/stux/run.sh
        to start the installed application.

      Once installed, applications are executed clicking the relative icon contained in
      K Menu -> STUX -> External
      or from
      STUX Control Center -> Setup -> Packages
    • How to download and install single Stux Packages manually.

      1. Download a package from here.
      2. Uncompress the package IN THE ROOT FOLDER of an existing linux partition. Example that uses /dev/hda1, mounted on /mnt/hda1, as target partition:
        $ cd /mnt/hda1
        $ tar -xvzf /location/of/downloaded/package-stux.tgz
      3. Execute, invoking with full absolute path,
        /mnt/hda1/stux-apps/[application name]/stux/setup-stux.sh
        that will create desktop items; then execute:
        /mnt/hda1/stux-apps/[application name]/stux/run.sh
        to start the installed application.
        Replace [application name] with the name of the application directory.

      Use always the same partition for further packages.
